What we love to do there from a pure Locals perspective

If its the Llyn we are hitting for a camping weekend, then there a few of my favourites I like to do en route..
I like to combine a bit of wild camping normally near or on Dinas Dinlle beach (its en route down when we are driving from Anglesey ) So we stop there for one eve, maybe bet some fish and chips, build a small fire and watch the stars while we bivi camp.
Nefyn for me means water sports, so my goal when I get there is to hit the water and fast! I love that beach and I usually take my Red SUP pump up paddle board for a gentle stroll and some cardio fitness in the bay. If I’m feeling more active after a bit of chill after the drive, I like to go on a walk around the headlands and sea cliffs near the golf course- that is THE most stunning place in Wales- hands down!
Some days I would bring dive kit and or small dingy with outboard, other times juts wetsuits and snorkel. I like to scuba dive the pier but I think they have stopped people doing it now.. more rules (yawn!).
Afternoon picnics followed by beach foraging along the foreshore seems to be the normal protocol, followed by read, nap, sunbathe! We love cooking on an open fire in the eve, outdoor living and eating is a huge yes for us.. then we roll into our sleeping bags in the dunes and stargaze!

I love to go to the surf shop in Abersoch the next day, its a short drive over for 35 minutes from Nefyn. The surf shop is called  West coast surf   Its great to pop over to seesee what the latest things are on the shelf as well as gawp over the latest new wetsuits and cool surf clothes they have in..

Drives home are always a downer- but we can go for a quick drive through a secret pass that almost no one knows on the LLyn peninsula at Nant Gwytheryn.. this place will blow your mind. Drive down is breath taking..and also not for those with height issues !
