North Wales is fast becoming the adrenaline and adventure capital of Britain. We have more activities that you can do per square kilometre, than anywhere else that I have visited with the most breath taking backdrops. From water sports on the pristine beaches of Anglesey and the Llyn, to climbing, hiking and cycling in mountains of Snowdonia. We have it all. Below I’ve listed some of the favourite adrenalin adventures you can do in the area, which are very popular with visitors. Enjoy!

The Adventure Park Snowdonia is the first inland surfing lake in UK but also the world’s first commercial surfing lake. They have just recently opened an entire new Adrenaline indoors complex, with climbing , zip wires and various play centres for the family, quite a significant upgrade by any means. The Indoor climbing at the Beacon centre is one of the best in Wales. it has been running for well over 20 years and has some of the best climbers in the UK working and setting routes for it’s climbing walls. For the kids who are on holiday or break along with their parents, the Crazy Climb is an exciting fun new experience.

A great community climbing centre where there is an incredible nice feel and vibe. It is probanble the best bouldering wall in north Wales and the routes are set by real world class pros. That said you don’t have to be a pro to climb and there are always amazing people there to offer help and a guide while you climb. The owner John is a climbing enthusiast and he runs the place with a lot of passion.
- RibRide – Speed boat rides on the Menai Strait

The defacto choice for rib rides on the Menai Strait. The RibRide company has grown from strength to strength. They offer some of the most exhilarating rides along one of the most pristine stretches of water in the UK. They have just last season brough online the worlds fastest commercial rib “Velocity” and are now running adrenalin filled trips on that daily. They begin their trips from St.George’s Pier, Menai Bridge.

The national water sports centre for Wales. Plas Menai is a one stop shop for all your watersports courses and coaching. They are highly regarded in the industry. They offer various watersports courses coaching, go check them out.

Plas y Brenin is one of the best places in the land when it comes to climbing, mountaineering and adventure courses in Wales. based in Capel Curig Snowodonia they are the equivalent to the Michelin star restaurant when it comes to the outdoor world. they run fantastic climbing courses all over north Wales, with some world class instructors.

Go below is a rather unique option in our selection. They offer underground adventures that weave their way through a labyrinth of old underground mining tunnels from Snowodonia’s distant mining past. There are various adventures on offer from Go Below Challenge to the Ultimate Extreme.

Sea kayaking offers one of the most amazing ways to see our coast. We are quite blessed to have one of the worlds top adventure paddlers and sea kayakers based with his company here on Holy island. If you are kayakers visiting the island or north Wales as a whole, then this is man to see. Although they don’t offer courses, they do offer demo boats of their range to test out and often have group meetings where they go paddle various interesting areas of water around Anglesey and beyond. He now exports his famous kayaks to over 20 countries world wide and also runs courses to coach and educate newbie sea kayakers.

Anglesey outdoors, also runs a company called Anglesey coasteering and are based in Porth daffarch, on Holy Island. It’s run by a set of friends of mine who have been going for twenty years as local sail makers at the mouse loft. They have now developed a wonderful wild camping, glamping and outdoor centre that they run year round. Super cool place. They run coasteering along the Anglesey coastline is an adrenaline packed adventure for the visitors. Psyched Paddle Boarding runs a variety of SUP lessons, coaching and experiences all year round in north Wales. The owner Sian, is a friend an adventurer and amazing campaigner for a plastic free Anglesey. Sian is no stranger to the water element and has partaken in some rather epic adventures on her paddle board around Wales and the UK. Funsport, offer kitesurfing lessons from their beach at Rhosneigr. They have just had their 20th year running on Anglesey. Dave who runs the local business was a windsurfing pioneer in the area who then branched out into kitesurfing. They now run courses on windsurfing and kitesurfing from Rhosneigr.

Coed Y Brenin, is an amazing mountain biking centre in the forests of north Wales near Dolgellau. They have a set of amazing trails for all abilities and hire bikes and equipment from the trail centre too.
