Spend a day on Tryfan with Mike Raine, Senior instructor at Plas y Brenin the National Mountain Centre and author of Nature of Snowdonia, discussing how Mountain Leaders can work with groups on the classic northRidge scramble and remain within the scope of the award and your experience.nnThe north ridge of Tryfan is one of our best known and loved mountainroutes, but it does have its ‘traps’. I know myself it took several ascents before I managed to go the same way twice! Come and join me and fast forward your experience by taking the benefit of mine. This is not a ropeworkrefresher and we will be exploring one or two of the variants, particularly around the forbidding north tower, looking for the best route at grade one. The idea of the workshop is to look at route choice, decision making, group sizes, personal familiarisation, assessing your group and relevantenvironment topics, including navigating by geology!nnThis workshop isperfect for qualified (rather than trainee) mountain leaders who want to work on Tryfan and would like to develop their own understanding of scrambling ground in relation to the Mountain leader scheme. The workshop will qualify for one Mountain Training Association CPD point.nnEQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIREDnnPersonal hill kit, including packed lunch. If you have lightweight climbing helmet bring this along so we can discuss how appropriate they migh
