Taliesin – Staff and Song. nnDr. Gwilym Morus will be delighting uswith his insights into the life, times, function and mysteries of the Chief Bard and Mystic Taliesin.In his engaging and inimitable style Dr. Morus will lead us throughan entire day of exploration, deepinto the heart of the Taliesin and Celtic mysteries. This day longevent will be one filled with magic, contemplation, discussion, ritual and the mesmerising and engaging perspective that Gwilym has of our native mysteries. nnCome and discover the beating heart of the Welsh mysteries in the company of anextraordinary teacher. nnTeaching: ancient bardic traditions, symbols and lore hidden within our ancient texts. The historic and literary context of our mystical tradition.nnDr Gwilym Morus-Baird began his studies in Welsh literature in2002 as a mature student enrolledon the Welsh literature degree course at The School of Welsh, BangorUniversity. He then went on to complete a Masters and a Doctorate at the department, specialising inMedieval Welsh poetry and the Welsh bardic tradition.He frequently teaches courses in Welsh myth and folklore. His current work focuseson The Four Branches of the Mabinogi and The Book of Taliesin, interpreting these medieval texts as symbolic and mythic repositories oftraditional wisdom. He is also a musician, with a long track recordas a solo artist and collaborator.His music can be found at mwncinel.com.nnThis presentation will bein two parts, the morning will bespent in the Llanfaelog village hall. After a lunch break we will proceed down to a beach for the remaining class/ritual. nnPlaces are limited to 40 seats. Costs are £40per person for the day, you are welcome to invite any friends thatmay be interested. Refreshments and cake/biscuits will be provided,but please note that lunch is notprovided.
